RULES AND REGULATIONS/

FORMAT/

Please see the relevant section in the by-laws.

U12 RULES/

1. Every game is divided into 4 x 10 minute quarters. The quarter breaks will last only as long as it takes to substitute players. The half-time breaks will last 3 minutes.

2. By the end of the game, every player MUST have played for one complete quarter from beginning to end.

3. During the first two quarters, substitutions can only be made at the end of the quarter, i.e. no substitutions can be made during a quarter, unless the referee deems that an injured player needs to be taken of the pitch. Substitutions may be made during the third and fourth quarters by using the running substitution rule.

4. A player who has been previously substituted may re-enter the game at one of the prescribed substitution intervals.

5. If a school enters a mixed team, there must always be at least nine boys on the pitch at any point in the game.

6. Short corners are taken from the edge of the penalty area.

7. Goal kicks are taken from the edge of the penalty area.

8. During the initial league stage 3 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.

In the event of a TWO-TEAM tie the following steps will be taken:

a) Results of the mutual game
b) Goals for minus goals against from all games (see ** below)
c) Most goals scored from all games (see ** below)
d) Least goals conceded from all games
e) 5 penalties per team
f) sudden-death penalties

In the event of a THREE-TEAM tie the following steps will be taken:

a) Points total from the mutual games involving the 3 teams
b) Goals for minus goals against from mutual games (see** below)
c) Most goals scored from mutual games (see ** below)
d) Least goals conceded from mutual games
e) Goals for minus goals against from ALL games (see** below)
f) Most goals scored for all games (see ** below)
g) Least goals conceded from all games
h) Three-way penalty shoot-out with every team taking 5 penalties against the 2 other teams. i.e. total of 10 penalties.

As soon as one team is awarded First placing using the above three-team tie procedure (i.e. leaving 2 teams tied for position) the procedure reverts to the two-team tie procedure to decide places two and three.

** Goals for minus goals against
At all age levels, a maximum of +5 goals will per game will count towards a team’s goal difference.

In the event of a TWO-TEAM tie in the knock-out stage the following steps will be taken:

a) 2 x 5 minutes extra time
b) 5 penalties per team
c Sudden-death penalties

FOOD AND DRINKS/

Lunches will be provided for players, coaches and officials at the venues.

ACCOMMODATION/

STUDENTS/

Tournament participants and their parents will be informed by their AD as to where they are staying.
